A student interested in obstetrics or nursing can benefit from taking an obstetrical nursing program. In this course, students learn the favored and accepted practices of caring for infants and mothers before, during and after delivery and may be able to lead obstetric wards at hospital and clinics.

An Associate of Applied Science prepares graduates to join the workforce in a particular field. The degree is often pursued by students who do not have plans to enter programs of advanced study.
