Introduction
Our Program Humber is proud of its collaboration with the University of New Brunswick - both institutions have long-standing traditions of excellence in nursing education in Canada. Our curriculum focuses on the nurse’s role in community/public health, primary health-care, and acute-care settings. The program includes many hours of clinical/field practice where you will have the opportunity to put your nursing skills and knowledge to work in a supervised setting. Our goal is to give you the complete picture of what it’s like to work in healthcare and to strengthen your connection with patients and families. That personal touch complements courses such as Anatomy and Physiology, Chronic Health Challenges, Pharmacotherapeutics and more. Small class sizes of 35 to 40 students mean you will get both individual and group learning opportunities. Your clinical experiences will be diverse and cover a broad range of settings including community agencies, schools, long-term care facilities and hospitals. Humber has relationships with more than 100 community agencies and makes every effort to give you the best possible experience in all the areas you could potentially work in after you have graduated. Field/Clinical Placement Students receive hands-on experience with a clinical component in every year.
