Introduction
The audiology program at Idaho State University offers coursework at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Students can elect to take the Pre-Audiology Emphasis track to the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Communication Science and Disorders as a means of preparing to enter our Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) graduate program. Our department also offers a Pre-Professional Program. This one-year levelling sequence prepares students who have successfully earned a degree in an unrelated field with the necessary foundational knowledge and skills to enter our Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) program.
The entry-level degree for audiology is the doctorate. This means that to practise audiology, you must earn your doctorate. This could be a professional doctorate such as the Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) or the research-based Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). Currently, Idaho State University only offers the Doctor of Audiology. We admit approximately 8 graduate students each year into our Doctor of Audiology Program.
