Program Description

Our Masters in Public Health course (MPH) provides high-quality training in the application of epidemiological, statistical and behavioural techniques used in public health practice and research. We have students from clinical and health-related disciplines from the UK and all over the world.

You will have the opportunity to improve generic and transferable skills and will be ideally placed to pursue a career in research or public health practice. The course also provides an ideal springboard for further postgraduate study at PhD level.

A UK Public Health Masters course is recognised the world over, and Dundee's MPH prepares students for research and management careers in public health and also a variety of medical and health-related disciplines.

Previous students graduating with the MPH from Dundee have taken up management positions in public health practice, nursing, professions allied to medicine, education, government, WHO and NGOs; and research positions within academic public health, general practice, acute medicine, nursing, professions allied to medicine, veterinary medicine, dentistry and environmental health.

The MPH also provides an ideal springboard for further postgraduate study at PhD and MD level.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible to register for the MPH, students should normally hold a first class or upper second class degree. Entry is normally restricted to graduates in medicine, dentistry, nursing and health-related sciences. Exceptionally, students are accepted without a first degree but in such instances, they should have professional qualifications and hold senior posts.
