Introduction
The Medical Course (Bachelor) is offered at Campus Nova Iguaçu, in full shift, with a duration of 12 academic periods, with a total workload of 7,990 class hours. Organization of the curriculum The construction of knowledge in an integrated and articulated way in a competence-oriented curriculum requires a rethinking of the pedagogical culture of course focused on the commitment of the teaching group. The collegial work aims at a critical understanding of the reality of health and the formation of the human professional, reflective, active, democratic and committed to social issues. This expanded view of teaching and learning requires a new posture of the teacher with respect to the previous knowledge, needs, and interests and learning rhythms of each student. For this, it is necessary to work with students the ability to establish relationships between the information they receive and bring and between the knowledge they acquire and reconstruct (SANTOMÉ, 1998). With a view to coping with situations related to medical training in context, the competency-oriented curriculum of the Itaperuna Medicine course is organized as follows: - Curricular Matrix, composed of 12 modules covering disciplines, Integrative Seminars (SI), PIESC Integration Program School, Service and Community) and internships. In each module described, there is a pedagogical intention in the distribution of the same, according to the level of complexity in which they are; - Flexible Teaching Modules, composed of elective and complementary activities, with the aim of making the student's education more flexible. These different dimensions of the curriculum of the medical course are only separated for purposes of didactic explanation. However, they are articulated in the structuring of the Pedagogical Project. Thus, the curricular organization of the course seeks the integration of the disciplines throughout its completion. Laboratories The laboratories that serve the Medicine Course aim to offer practical training to learn the content of the disciplines. The use policy strictly adheres to the curricular timetable, although there is a stimulus to student participation for free study. There is a general management of the laboratories to deal with administrative and technical matters, as well as the pre-preparation of the classes. The main guidelines of the laboratories are a permanent maintenance and update that obey the schedule of priorities to meet the needs of teaching and research programs The following are the laboratories used by the Medicine course with its main characteristics and equipment roster. The undergraduate course in Medicine uses for the basic disciplines the multidisciplinary laboratories of the Faculty of Biological Sciences and Health (FaCBS), described below: - The mission of multidisciplinary laboratories is to present to the academic a practical contact of the experimental sciences for consolidation of knowledge Scientific technician The purpose is to perform the dichotomy observation experimentation, to confirm the scientific exploratory thinking necessary for the evolution of science. The infrastructure of the multidisciplinary laboratories consists of 07 (seven) independent laboratory units for practical classes, which follow the following list: Laboratory 1 to 6 plus the Laboratory of Parasitology.
