Introduction
Rehabilitation Counseling is a systematic process in which persons with physical, developmental, cognitive, and emotional disabilities are assisted in achieving their personal, career, and independent living goals in the most integrated settings possible through the application of the counseling process. The counseling process involves communication, goal setting, and beneficial growth or change through self-advocacy, psychological, vocational, social, and behavioral interventions.
Our five semester curriculum (51 credit hours) prepares students to become competent rehabilitation counselors. The hybrid program offers intensive coursework as well as practicum and internship experiences, where students are able to integrate the practical knowledge and clinical skills necessary for competent professional practice.
