Introduction
Our Program
Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is a research-based and data-driven science that can be used to teach individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) a variety of new skills including social, play, self-help, language and academic skills. This highly specialized Ontario College Graduate Certificate program provides students with a firm grounding in the principles of ABA; specifically in the application of these principles to Intensive Behavioural Intervention (IBI) with children with ASD. The curriculum covers the characteristics of individuals with ASD, evidence-based practices in ABA, the professional code of ethics and the development and implementation of behavioral treatment plans. Students gain practical experience working with clients and ABA treatment teams.
Graduates of the program work predominantly with children and career opportunities may include ASD treatment teams, school boards, community agencies and family settings.
This program requires two full-time block placements over 4 and six weeks. Please thoroughly review the placement information to ensure this program is right for you.
