Introduction
The Brazosport College ADN Program is a two-year program awarding an Associate in Applied Science Degree (A.A.S.). Upon satisfactory completion of all college and program requirements, graduates are eligible to apply for the National Council Licensure Exam for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).
A registered nurse is a graduate from an Approved Professional Nursing program (ADN) and passed the National Council Licensure Exam for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). An RN assesses patient health problems and needs, develops and implements nursing care plans, and documents care. An RN provides nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients. An RN may provide education to patients about health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management.
